This movie lives rent free in my head even a decade later. I watched this movie as a teenager shortly after my mother died and thus movie just spoke to my soul.

This was my first Pakistani film and it makes me so happy that Pakistan has such brilliant young filmmaker who are reshaping the film industry of Pakistan. You don't need a massive budget film to tell a good story. This film was made in a very humble budget of 10-15 cr but the amount of recognition and applause this film has gained for Pakistan is priceless. It also makes me a little sad that Pakistan had banned the release of this film but maybe some time a day will come when the authorities wouldn't feel attacked if someone challenges their belief or portrays a piece of reality which might not be the best part but it's still the truth and telling the truth is more important than pride.

This I MUSt watch. Looks so good. I've also missed the really good vampire movies.

Actually, the film is based on the story by the Russian writer Aleksey Tolstoy "the Family of the Vourdalak". The plot is set in Serbia. This is why we have Slavic names and also Turks, of course.
